As one of the world’s foremost authorities on nutrition, Dr. Jenkins is renowned for pioneering the glycemic index, a global standard for evaluating the metabolic and health impact of carbohydrate foods on blood sugar. His groundbreaking work has been pivotal in the field’s pursuit to understand the potential of diet in preventing and treating chronic diseases, including heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

Driven by a commitment to innovative clinical research, he has introduced groundbreaking concepts in nutrition, such as the metabolic effects of viscous fibres and the dietary portfolio for cholesterol reduction and cardiovascular disease prevention.
